Hi I'm trying install windows 8. But I have some problems with some drivers.I'm impressed that Windows 8 does not recognize them as default drivers. Well after I installed manually (cuz WU doesn't recognize them) when I turn on my PC a BSOD appear.Now, I know the problem is that Windows 8 turn off my PC as hibernate (idk if that is a issue to turn on more fast). So when I turn on my PC I note that I can't have access to BIOS, then when my PC try to go in to OS appear a BSOD after that ends load, myPC restarts so I note now I have access to BIOS but I let my PC go in to OS and now my PC finishes loading well.So. I noted 2 thing about all of that.1. Windows 8 turns off every PC as hibernate (I guess because if I try go to BIOS after turn off every PC with Windows 8 I cant have access to BIOS)2. Oldest versions of drivers like my case. Doesn't work in Windows 8 and you have 2 ways to fix it.2.1 One way is uninstall that driver. And the other way is find a newest version of that driver.If anyone know a newest version for my driver PLEASE TELL ME and thank you for read.EddySam.
OMG xD I forgot to said what version I'm using:PI'm using 64 bits.And another thing I found a issue with modem driver from Windows Update.When I install windows 8 it comes with this driver modem.MicrosoftHDA CX11270 Soft Modem7.80.2.52As default driver when you install windows 8.But when you go to WU and install all of updates from there, you install a old version. O.o?CXTHAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP7.58.0.0After that, each time you TURN OFF/ON your computer, you get a BSOD.how that happened?Well you guys should fix that as a soon as possible. Wow, this thread is over a year old and no resolution yet. I have precisely this problem, but just recently decided to do some searching to see if there is anything new.I'm using an older laptop (Acer 5610, 32-bit), upgraded from Vista to 7, and now to 8. The reader worked fine on 7. I usually use sleep (sometimes hibernate), and either way Win 8 (and 8.1) can't handle it.I do have an unwieldy workaround - normally I leave the card reader disabled. When I want to use it (primarily to snag pics from a camera card), I enable it, works just fine. When done, I 'eject' the card (in software) and disable.
A pain, but I getto use it.This makes it pretty impractical to use for ReadyBoost though, I don't want to have to be going thru that on EVERY sleep cycle.
