Hi,My Draytek Vigor N61 WiFi USB Dongle worked perfectly with my Windows 8 Pro laptop. 270Mbps throughput on channel 13, great for streaming TV from the web.Now I've 'upgraded' the laptop to Windows 8.1 the functionality and performance of the Vigor N61 is seriously compromised. No matter how I configure the settings it can no longer work beyond channel 11 (the American standard; I'm in the UK) and its throughputhas dropped to 130Mbps.It would seem that a perfectly functioning driver has been replaced with a limited one. The manufacturer does not have any of its own drivers beyond Windows 7 so I've been using automatically downloaded Microsoft ones since moving to Windows 8.
Even whenI was using the early Preview version of Windows 8 the Microsoft driver worked perfectly. Why degrade the driver for 8.1?So PLEASE no brain-dead advice to visit the manufacturer's website!!!!A pointer to the original v8 driver would be great.
